Loran Bailey
Drum, Percussion, Piano, Brass, Woodwind, Guitar

Loran Bailey was born in 1985 and developed a love for music at an early age. He began playing snare drum for services at his grandfather's church, and his skills quickly developed as his playing increased. In middle school, wanting to take his musicianship to a more professional level, Loran started learning to read music and decided to qualify himself by taking royal school exams.

Loran spent his high school years developing his speed and timing behind the drum set, as well as learning to master several new instruments. After graduating, he joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force, where he became a member of the band division. While in the band, he continued to develop his music reading skills and focused on becoming more fundamentally sound.

During his years in the Bahamas, Mr. Bailey trained many young people; he was a music teacher for the urban renewal band, the Police Youth Band, and the Carmicheal youth band as a part of the Youth Empowerment Program. Loran has played for churches, jazz combos, concert bands, and wind ensembles. He has spent many years teaching beginner through intermediate piano students, and serving as band director for brass and woodwind students. He has also played with Willis & the Illest Reggae Band, and presently plays with and manages Pink Sand Brass Band.

Mr. Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (EC-12) with a focus in percussion, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Education Leadership & Administration. He is presently the Battery Percussion Instructor for the Prairie View A&M University Marching Storm Drum-line (better known as MSD).
