Saxophone, Percussion

William entered into the music world at age 11. He played saxophone all throughout middle and high school, which led him to major in music with Saxophone as his main instrument at Stephen F. Austin State University. William has been honored with a scholarship from the SFA School of Music for performing well after his audition into the school.

William has performed in large ensemble concerts and solo performances. In addition, he has had the wonderful opportunity to perform with Dr. Nathan Nabb and Dr. Bob Eason, and is a member of the SFA Lumberjack Marching Band. The highlight of William's career so far has been going to the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-state convention and learning different ways to teach and play music.

William descided to start teaching music because he wanted to remind students that although practicing can be tedious and at times annoying, it can still be fun to simply learn. William considers a lesson to be a success if a student leaves feeling like they had fun. A lesson with William will include games into lesson time, giving students strategies to learn difficult rhythms and melodies, and reminding students that failure is just an opportunity for growth.
