Violin, Piano

Sara Holtgrewe is a hard-working and enthusiastic violinist who strives to spread the joy of music to anyone she can. She began playing violin in the sixth grade after seeing her idol, Itzhak Perlman, play in a concert on the TV. The performance touched her so much that she begged her parents to play the violin all summer before the start of sixth grade. She played in the school Orchestra for all of her years in middle and high school. She also plays the piano for fun at an intermediate level.

While attending Cy-Ranch High School, Sara received a full scholarship to play in the Idyllwild Music Camp in California. While there, she studied conducting with Larry Livingston, and performed with the Orchestra on Violin in Disney Hall in Los Angles. Sara Received her Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas, where she studied under Dr. Felix Olschofka. While in attendance at UNT, she performed in the Concert Orchestra under the direction of Clay Couturiaux. She also played in several Chamber music groups such as Piano Trios and Cello and Violin Duets. While at UNT, she gave two solo recitals where she played famous works by Brahms and Wieniawski.

She then began her journey privately teaching young students and currently teaches Violin in the general Houston area. She began teaching to encourage young students and to do everything in her power to make sure that they got the best music education that she could provide them.
