Growing up in Louisiana, Stan’s earliest musical influences were singing and playing in his father's church choir. From those southern roots, he went on to perform, tour, and record with well-known Contemporary Christian and Country music artists in Nashville, TN. During that time, Stan toured and performed in all forty-eight contiguous United States, and across Canada and Europe. He has also served as a worship leader and music director for churches in Louisiana, Texas, and California.

Teaching music has always been a part of Stan’s career; he first began in 1999 and since 2011 has been teaching private lessons full-time. With a variety of students from ages 7 to 70, including first-timers, elementary through college students, CEOs, engineers, pro football players, chefs, professors, busy moms, and retired folks, Stan loves sharing his passion of music. He has had great success guiding his students to not only learn an instrument, but to understand the “why” of what they’re doing. Teaching guitar, electric bass, keyboards, music theory, and the Nashville Number System, Stan sums up his philosophy of instruction with the classic proverb, “Give a man a fish and you’ve fed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you’ve fed him for a lifetime.”

Stan received his first guitar at the age of twelve and his first electric bass at fifteen. By the end of high school, he had also learned to play the keyboard. He taught himself to play all three of these instruments and spent many hours in his bedroom practicing, with sore fingers and determination.

Highlights from Stan’s career include performing, touring, and/or recording with artists Amy Grant, Twila Paris, DeGarmo & Key, White Heart, Farrell & Farrell, Dogwood, Charly McClain, Wayne Massey & Blackhawk, Charlie McCoy, Mel McDaniel, Wayne Watson, The Belmont Reasons, The Belmont Experimental Rock Ensemble, and Girls Next Door. He has also served as musical director for the Miss Belmont and Miss Nashville beauty pageants, done recording work as a studio session musician and singer, and worked as a recording engineer and producer on over fifteen music projects, in addition to writing regional commercial jingles as well as songs that were signed to Nashville publishers. Stan has also been a member of AFM (American Federation of Musicians) and AFTRA (American Federation of Television & Radio Artists).

Stan received a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, majoring in Commercial Music with a minor in Music Business. He also studied Vocal Performance at the University of Louisiana Monroe, and completed post-graduate work in Communications at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
