Cello, Violin, Viola, Bass
Kelli Houston began playing cello at the age of 10, and learned to play violin, viola, and bass as she pursued her degrees in college. Ms. Houston obtained her Bachelors of Music in 2009, and her Master of Arts in Music Education in 2011 from Stephen F. Austin State University. She went on to teach orchestra and has done so since 2011. She started her teaching career at Burbank High School and Lowell MIddle School in San Antonio as the Orchestra Director. In 2014 she came back home to Houston teaching at Lamar High School from 2014-2019 as the Head Orchestra Director. She is currently teaching at McDonald Junior High in Katy where she begins students from scratch on violin, viola, cello, and bass.
Ms. Houston loves the spark that comes in a student’s eyes when they learn a new skill. It’s that spark that drives her to help her students reach their full potential as they progress on their instrument. She looks forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals!
