Hamilton Loomis is a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist with a fresh, practical approach to teaching based on his 27-year on-stage performing experience. "Everything I share with students, I get them to apply it directly in the songs they love, which not only shows them how things work musically, but also keeps them excited and motivated about learning music." Fronting his own band for 20 years, writing/arranging songs, and performing them all over the world has given Hamilton the insight into applying musical concepts into real songs and real musical situations.

Hamilton is an accomplished guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, harmonica player, songwriter, and vocalist. In addition to his stage experience, he holds a BA in Music Performance from St. Thomas University, as well as a BA in Communications. He has taught private lessons, group lessons, workshops, and youth music camps since 1998. Hamilton tailors his lessons to each student, according to his/her own goals and musical tastes. "I like to get to know my students and find out what/who they like musically, then use that knowledge to demonstrate the things we're working on so they can hear it in action. If students want to write their own songs, we apply what we've learned to their songs too."

Please note: Hamilton is a gigging musician and works almost every weekend, so weekdays/weeknights are when he is available to teach.
