Tramane Munks
Piano, Voice

Tramane Munks, Sr. is a native Houstonian. From his early teenage years throughout his adult life and career, he has been blessed to share his gifts with such great artists as the late Rev. Milton Brunson, Henry "Hanq" Neal, Charles Tyrone, Mona Moore, Cynthia Miller, V. Michael McKay, Daryl Coley, Javin Campbell, Soul Fruit, Kathy Taylor, Dr. Margaret Douroux, and many more. He is also a former member of the Houston Ebony Opera Guild, in which he sang baritone and tenor.

Tramane is a longtime educator who, in addition to private lessons, has also taught in the Houston Independent School District as a choir and band director. Over the years, he has seen schools who have completely removed the fine arts from their curriculum, which he found very concerning. Throughout his career, he has worked hard to bring music education back into the picture for students of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.

Mr. Munks is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), and has traveled inside and outside of the state of Texas conducting workshops and music ministry building seminars. In these sessions, he shares his knowledge and expertise with music ministries of various churches whose music departments are suffering or in need of growth. Currently, Tramane serves as the keyboard instructor at a charter school in Channelview, TX, where he continues to mentor and guide our future musicians and artists in the right direction.

In addition to his career as an educator, Tramane remains an active performing musician. He has co-produced many joint-venture projects, and released his own debut CD in 2006 entitled “Final Chapter.” He has also served as Music Director for local group “The Table Salt Band” since 2005.
